Our Camps
Camping is an integral part of the Scouting program. In the outdoors, kids have opportunities to acquire skills that make them more self-reliant. They can explore, canoe, hike trails and complete challenges they first thought were beyond their ability. Attributes of good character become part of a young person as they learn to cooperate to meet challenges they may face in the great outdoors.
Scouting America Long Island operates 3 exceptional camping facilities, each offering unique adventures for Scouts and leaders alike. These outdoor program activities encourage self-reliance, self-confidence, and leadership, as well as enhance the traditional aims of Scouting: citizenship, character development, and mental/physical fitness consistent with the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Cub Scout Camping
Taking younger Cub Scouts to approved campsite locations ensures they experience the outdoors in a safe and secure environment tailored to their age and abilities. These campsites are designed to meet safety standards while providing opportunities for fun, learning, and growth. Listed below is an interactive list of information on counsel-approved camping locations. At least one adult on a pack overnighter must have completed Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) to properly understand the importance of program intent, youth protection guidelines, health and safety, site selection, age-appropriate activities, and sufficient adult participation.
The following is a list of approved Cub Scout Camping locations within our Council. This list will be updated continuously as sites are certified.
