Scoutbook Plus: Find a Counselor

Merit Badge Counselors can be found in Scoutbook Plus by the Scoutmaster. Follow the instructions below to access the list. If you need more help or don’t find a counselor for the merit badge you need, get in touch with the Council office.

  1. Log into Scoutbook Plus
  2. Select “MB Counselor List”.
  3. From here you can limit the list of counselors by merit badge, your unit/ scout ZIP code, distance to the counselor, and whether they are currently available to help new scouts.

Become a Merit Badge Counselor

A merit badge counselor is a responsible adult with knowledge and enthusiasm about a career, hobby or other subject who is willing to share that knowledge and enthusiasm with Scouts.

  1. If not already completed, you must complete Safeguarding Youth Training.
  2. Register as a Merit Badge Counselor (Those currently registered in Scouting will be listed as a multiple registration, those not currently registered will need to pay a $25 Registration Fee and $25 Program Fee)
  3. Complete the Merit Badge Counselor Information Sheet and submit to the Council Program Center.
  4. The Advancement Committee will either approve or deny your MBC application. Once your application is accepted, you will appear in Scoutbook Plus as a merit badge counselor.
